Whole Roast Chicken We offer a choice of whole roast chickens to suit different preferences. Our free-range Sutton Hoo birds from Suffolk are reared outdoors with the freedom to range, developing excellent flavour. Alternatively, our grain-fed barn-reared chickens are grown with plenty of space and to Freedom Food standards, offering consistent quality and good eating. Both make a reliable, well-flavoured centrepiece for any meal.
At Hepburns, we believe in choice and whilst free range chickens offer significant benefits related to animal welfare and environmental sustainability, we recognise that grain fed chickens provide consistency in quality and good value for money.
We source all of our free-range chicken from Yorkshire, where they have access to outdoor spaces, allowing them to engage in natural behaviors such as foraging, pecking, and dust bathing.
Our grain fed chickens are reared in light, airy barns with bales to perch on and toys to encourage their natural behaviour and to develop social interaction and they enjoy a nutritious diet using Wheat grown by the family on their farms.
In our opinion, both options deliver great-tasting, firm- textured, succulent chicken that tastes like chicken used to.
